NAATBatt International is pleased to announce that it has been selected this week to facilitate and manage the 2016 peer review meeting of the energy storage program of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability.  The meeting will be held on September 25-28, 2016 at The Renaissance Hotel, DuPont Circle, in Washington, D.C.  More information about the meeting will be available shortly on the NAATBatt website.

Peer Reviews are independent assessments of the scientific merit of research by experts having knowledge of the research area equal to that of the performers of the work.  The purpose of peer review meetings is to provide DOE program managers with independent technical evaluations of the programs the managers are funding.  Approximately 100 projects are expected to present at the 2016 meeting, spanning electro-chemistry and materials development, component and system testing, economic and system analysis, and full demonstrations.

The 2016 peer review meeting will be the 15th such meeting of the DOE energy storage program.  The past 15 years have seen tremendous development in the field of energy storage.  The 2016 meeting will focus on the energy storage technologies of today.  But it will also pay tribute to the tremendous achievements of the energy storage industry over the past 15 years.

I hope that you can join NAATBatt International and the rest of the energy storage community in Washington D.C. next September for a fascinating and important program.
