Andy Tobin

Commissioner Andy Tobin is a well-known leader in Arizona state government. Prior to his appointment to the Arizona Corporation Commission, Tobin was appointed by the Governor to serve as director of the Arizona Department of Insurance in October 2015, providing oversight of all insurance companies, agents, brokers, licensing, and consumer protections. In addition, he was appointed acting director of the Arizona Department of Financial Institutions. Prior to those appointments, Tobin served as director of the Arizona Department of Weights and Measures, helping consolidate the agency, reducing costs and improving consumer services and protections.

Robert Galyen

Bob Galyen currently holds the position Chief Technical Officer of Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited. Bob is the Chairman of SAE International Battery Standards Steering Committee with 22 Committees reporting to him. He is also the President of NAATBatt International. He has a Master’s degree in Chemistry and recipient of numerous awards including; Automotive News “Electrifying 100,” two SAE International Technical Standards Board “Outstanding Contribution Awards,” Ball State University “Circle of Excellence Award,” NFPA Fire Protection Research Foundation’s “Foundation Medal,” General Motors “Best of the Best” award, the Chinese “1000 Talent Plan Award,” and most recently the Chinese Government Friendship Award.

Jim Greenberger

Jim Greenberger has served as Executive Director of NAATBatt International since co-founding the organization in 2008. He was previously a partner in the Chicago office of the law firm of Reed Smith LLP, where he his practice concentrated in commercial finance, venture capital and cleantech. He received his B.A. from Haverford College and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.

John Platt 
Snell & Wilmer

John Platt is a partner at the law firm of Snell & Wilmer and currently serves as Secretary of NAATBatt International. He advises and represents clients with intellectual property strategies, audits, contracts, due diligence and litigation. John also handles licensing agreements and patent and trademark prosecutions. John’s patent practice involves Alternative Energy Technologies, using his dual degrees in mechanical and electrical engineering to assist his clients with protecting their intellectual property.  He has prosecuted patents in solar, wind, micro-grid, hybrid vehicle electric motors, generation, power regulation and energy storage.

Dr. Stanley Whittingham

Dr. Stan Whittingham is a key figure in the history of the development of lithium batteries discovering the concept of intercalation electrodes in the early 1970’s. He is currently a Distinguished Professor of Chemistry and Materials Science and Engineering at SUNY Binghamton, where he serves as Director of both the Institute for Materials Research and the Materials Science and Engineering program.
