The Propulsion Battery Production Hardware Supervisor is responsible to oversee the development, integration, and field support of propulsion batteries for all FCA electrified vehicle programs. He/She will lead a team of product responsible engineers to execute the launch, issue investigation/resolution, and engineering production change release of propulsion battery packs over the production lifecycle. The manager will have direct interface with the Tier 1 battery suppliers and field service personnel to successfully integrate and troubleshoot the battery pack for all aspects of mechanical, electrical, and thermal performance. This position will serve as primary leader for overseeing prompt investigation, root cause analysis, and resolution of battery issues in field and coordinate field service and end of life battery activities. The ideal candidate will have the technical and organizational skills to effectively manage issues and report out to Sr. Level Management on an as needed basis.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Physics, Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, Systems, or Computer Engineering, or related Engineering field from an ABET accredited, or ABET equivalent university
  • Minimum of 8 years in product engineering design and development, with emphasis on component design, release, and integration in vehicle
  • Extensive experience in proactive and reactive engineering problem solving methods (including DFSS, Kepner Tregoe, 8D, 5Why, etc.)
  • Strong technical project management skills to lead and support management level presentations and project overviews
  • Well-developed technical, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead a cross-functional team and organize the key issues with prompt follow up
  • Self-starter who's capable of supervising a diverse workforce

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Science degree in Engineering, as accredited by ABET or ABET equivalent; other graduate level technical degrees in the specific area of relevant specialty expertise may be considered
  • Prior knowledge of electrification technology functionality and features on the system level
  • High Voltage training and traction battery design/development experience is desirable
  • Experience with CAN diagnostic tools including Canalyzer and Canape
  • Knowledge of battery test methods and procedures
