NAATBatt is pleased to host the Workshop on Zinc Battery Technology II for the second year running at the Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC) on the campus of The City University of New York (CUNY) in Upper Manhattan.   The striking, 200,000-square-foot ASRC building embodies a bold vision of 21st-century discovery.  The workshop will be held in the modern Auditorium on the first floor of the ASRC building, with lunch and breaks in the adjoining Cafe.

The ASRC is located at 85 St. Nicholas Terrace, New York, New York.  Transportation to the ASRC can be arranged as follows:

Directions by Public Transportation

Subway

Take the MTA A or D express trains or B or C local trains to 125th Street. Exit the north side of the station (127th St. and St. Nicholas Avenue exit) onto 127th Street; proceed up the hill (away from St. Nicholas Avenue) and turn right at the intersection of St. Nicholas Terrace. Continue north uphill on St. Nicholas Terrace to the ASRC staircase at 85 St. Nicholas Terrace (near 133rd St.). Once at the top of the staircase the ASRC is the building on the left.

Take the MTA #1 local subway to 137th Street and Broadway. Walk south on Broadway to 135th Street. Turn left (east) and walk up 135th Street to St. Nicholas Terrace. Turn right on St. Nicholas Terrace to the ASRC staircase at 85 St. Nicholas Terrace (near 133rd St.). Once at the top of the staircase the ASRC is the building on the left.

Take the MTA #4 or #5 express or #6 local to 125th Street and Lexington Avenue. Change there for the M-100 or M-101 bus to Amsterdam Avenue and 135th St. Street. Turn right (east) and walk up 135th Street to St. Nicholas Terrace. Turn right on St. Nicholas Terrace to the ASRC staircase at 85 St. Nicholas Terrace (near 133rd St.). Once at the top of the staircase the ASRC is the building on the left.

Metro North

Take the Metro North to 125th Street and Park Avenue. Change there for the M-100 or M-101 bus to Amsterdam Avenue and 135th St. Street. Turn right (east) and walk up 135th Street to St. Nicholas Terrace. Turn right on St. Nicholas Terrace to the ASRC staircase at 85 St. Nicholas Terrace (near 133rd St.). Once at the top of the staircase the ASRC is the building on the left.

Bus

Take the M-4 or M-5 to Broadway and 135th Street. Walk south on Broadway to 135th St. Turn right (east) and walk up 135th Street to St. Nicholas Terrace. Turn right on St. Nicholas Terrace to the ASRC staircase at 85 St. Nicholas Terrace (near 133rd St.). Once at the top of the staircase the ASRC is the building on the left.

Take the BX-19 to 145th and Convent Avenue; walk south on Convent Avenue to 135th Street. Turn left (east) onto 135th Street. Turn right on St. Nicholas Terrace to the ASRC staircase at 85 St. Nicholas Terrace (near 133rd St.). Once at the top of the staircase the ASRC is the building on the left.

Hotel Accommodations

Hotel accommodations in the immediate area of the ASRC are limited.  However, the ASRC is easily reachable from midtown Manhattan by taxi, Uber or the MTA A or D express trains.  There are numerous hotels at all price points located within easy walking distance of the 42^nd Street Port Authority MTA stop from which the A express train leaves.

NAATBatt may attempt to negotiate a group rate with a midtown Manhattan hotel, which will be available to workshop attendees.  Check back at this page for more details soon.
