 2019 NAATBatt Annual Conference

The NAATBatt annual meeting is the premier thought leadership conference for the advanced battery industry in North America. Each year, the NAATBatt meeting brings the leading industry executives together to hear about developments in the business, markets, technology and regulation of advanced battery systems, to do deals, and to form the new personal relationships that will be the basis of future business relationships.  The meeting features presentations by most NAATBatt member firms highlighting their new products and services and a jury-selected innovation summit selecting the Top 10 new battery technologies of 2019 available for license or purchase. The historic Wigwam Resort outside Phoenix, Arizona will host this year’s meeting and will provide numerous events and venues to promote business networking. Are you part of the battery industry, or do you just work in it? Come to NAATBatt 2019 to get on the inside track. NAATBatt members and non-members are welcome.

The NAATBatt membership includes some of the largest and most successful advanced battery companies in the world.  The purpose of these “flash” presentations is to give NAATBatt members a first look at new technologies that may be useful in their businesses.  These presentations provide developers of new battery-related technologies with an opportunity to have their technology seen, and possibly purchased or licensed, by a major industry player.  The Summit helps small, innovative companies connect with the largest companies in the industry. It is the battery industry’s response to the challenge of raising venture capital in this sector.

SK Innovation is planning to boost production capacity by more than 10x by 2022 and expects its battery business to ‘break even’ in 2020.  The company is aiming to increase annual capacity to 55 gigawatt-hours (GWh) by 2022 (from the current 4.7 GWh). SK has announced investment plans worth about $3 billion since late 2017, to build new factories in ChinaHungary and the United States(Source: Reuters)

Proterra announced that the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has agreed to procure 18 Catalyst® E2 electric buses (ebuses) for shuttle service at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and LaGuardia Airport (LGA). Six of ebuses are already in service at JFK with LGA and EWR to each deploy six more in 2019. (Source: Proterra)

ChargePoint and Greenlots announced a roaming partnership that would enable charging between networks throughout North America at no additional cost. The agreement is based on the Open Charge Point Interface and will commence in mid-2019. (Source: ChargePoint)
