The Shmuel de-Leon Battery Safety Tutorial and the NAATBatt Lithium Ion Battery Safety Solutions Workshop will be held in the Innovation Place TD Gallery and Plaza of the CU-ICAR building. Founded in 2007, the Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research is an advanced-technology research campus where education, research, and economic development collaborate to create a global venue for the automotive industry. CU-ICAR is home to the nation’s only graduate Department of Automotive Engineering.

The tour of BMW battery pack assembly operations on Thursday morning and the BMW Driving Experience on Thursday afternoon will take place at the BMW Group Plant Spartanburg. BMW Manufacturing employs 11,000 people at the seven million square-foot campus. The Spartanburg plant is the BMW Group producer of the BMW X3, X3 M, X5, X5 M and X7 Sports Activity Vehicles and X4, X4 M, X6 and X6 M Sports Activity Coupes. BMW Group Plant Spartanburg is located about 10 miles from CU-ICAR.
